Ben is an accomplished executive with over two decades of professional experience in organizational leadership, strategic communications and emergency management.
With extensive experience leading and developing organizations in both the public and private sectors, Ben brings a wealth of knowledge and subject matter expertise from a variety of technical fields including disaster response and recovery, public policy, economic development, data science, project management and public health.
In the public sector, Ben completed over 15 years of service in strategically-driven positions at State of Florida government agencies including communications, legislative and executive positions within the Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Commerce, Florida Department of Health, Florida Division of Emergency Management, Florida House of Representatives and Executive Office of the Governor. Ben’s private sector experience includes general consulting, strategic planning and broad-scale project management for large associations, nonprofits and advocacy organizations.
Through his service with the Florida Division of Emergency Management, Ben successfully completed response and recovery missions with deployments to wildfires, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, COVID-19 operations and the Surfside Building Collapse. During the historic response to COVID-19, Ben served as Incident Commander for a team of over 300 medical and clerical professionals.
Ben is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute, holds Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) status through the State of Florida and was credentialed as an Affiliate through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in 2022.
